Father Divine Jack LaLanne didn’t talk about running long distances or running marathons; He never talked about the 400 lb bench press, he trained with light weights, 1000 gymnasts, did tons of swimming and accomplished amazing feats.
According to today’s experts, training with high reps only builds endurance, and it’s also undetectable that once someone lifts a weight, it counts as strength training, no matter how much weight they’re using.
But according to experts and today’s standard, you may think that the only weights your body responds to are a barbell or kettlebell, higher body weight training thought to be somewhat inferior, and only beneficial when doing lower training like power lifting.
But Jack LaLanne can do thousands of calisthenics, and swim miles of open water. Lalanne trained until he was tired, until he could no longer do another rep.
No one in Jack LaLanne questioned his results, but the experts without anything would question others who trained in the same brutal manner.
I’ve never heard Jack LaLanne complain of fatigue, never heard stories of widespread injuries, only theories about people trying to push their training theories.
The problem is that people spend more time resting in a training session than actually working out. We learned that we need to take a lot of time between sets to recover so we can get the next number of reps.
The fit elite don’t spend more time resting then training, which is why most people are on the same level when it comes to their fitness level. You train like everyone else. You will get results.
High performance workouts are hard to do, and they will mentally and physically try and beat you. To reach a great level of fitness, you always have to push the limits.
Most people let others decide what they are capable of; I am looking for elite. I look up to men who have pushed their self-imposed boundaries and given others a chance to believe that they can do so.
The body is designed to move, no one sets limits on what you and your body can do, only your mind and what you think it can do and what you are willing to try will determine how far you go.
Look at the people who have already been where you want to go!
